I have a HEIL DC90 Furnace and when it first starts up there is a loud squealing noise that lasts for about 20 seconds, and then stops. At first I thought it was the blower motor, but after 20 seconds the noise stops and the furnace continues to propel air throughout the house silently. Does anybody know what could be causing the squealing noise? I'm a fairly new home owner and I'm on a budget, so if I can fix this myself it would be beneficial to me.

Check for oil ports on the motor. Also brush the fan blade or squirrel cage off. :)

this is a high efficency unit it has combustion motor and this will turn on before your blower even goes on if you hear the noise before your fan kicks on this is probally the problem look for oil ports or consider replacement
