The fan in the freezer is not working. I have ordered a new fan motor, but wondering what turns the fan on. Is it the temp thermostat compressor motor or the timer??? In other words what is the source of power for the fan .

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

The fan should be on when ever tthe compressor is on as they are wired in parallel.
The main control thermostat turns them on/off.
They also get power through the defrost timer contacts which ensures they stay off during a defrost cycle.
