Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 4/2/2009(UTC) Posts: 1		I have an amana bottom mount freezer/ref and I can't find a location for the defrost thermostat. Last week I replaced the defrost timer and it didn't fix the problem. My next check is the thermostat. On your drawings it is #31 on the evaporator part list but has no #31 on the drawing. I would appreciate some help.:eek: :confused:

Rank: Advanced Member Groups: Senior Expert Joined: 3/10/2009(UTC) Posts: 1,363		I also can't find a diagram with your defrost thermostat. Part 31 isn't what they usually look like anyway. It should be clipped or clamped to one of the metal tubes at the evaporator coil. It's metal and shaped like a short cylinder. you can check it by bypassing it and seeing if the heater works then.
