My Maytag quiet series 300 fills and begins the wash cycle normally then after a minute or two it stopped making the normal washing sound. I opend the door and found there was no water inside.

I bypassed the door switch and the dishwasher fills properly, it starts the wash cycle properly (got soaking wet in the process) and after closing the door to resume it washes for about a minute or so then starts to hum like a pump out of water, (which it is) when I opened the door it was completely empty.

Thanks for any help on this as my backup dishwasher is not real happy right now

never mind folks, I reached underneath the DW and gave the pump a gentle tap with a hammer and everything works fine. probably a sticky solenoid. I'm sure the problem will resurface again at which time I may just pull the DW out and take the pump apart and inspect the flapper or solenoid closer.
