Hi everyone,

I'm having a problem with my Frigidaire side by side. Water appears to be leaking in the back of the freezer cauing an ice buildup on the fan and at the bottom of the freezer. I've removed the ice maker a few times and have looked for cracks and holes, but have found none. The water dispensing tube is definitely going into the collection pod of the ice maker and there is no clog blocking the water from going into the mold. Has anyone come across this issue? I've had a repair man come out and charge me $85 to tell me there was nothing wrong with it, but clearly there is.

Does anyone know if partially closing the water line value will help? I was thinking maybe the water was being put into the ice maker to fast and it was spilling out. But not sure why it would suddenly start after 3 years.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Tom

I'm having the exact same problem. Frigidaire side by side with water leaking down on to fan and causing it to freeze up. My unit is also just a little over three years old. I have to pull the back panels off about once every three weeks and deice the fan. I can't find where the water is coming from. I'm considering just replacing the ice make to see if that corrects the problem. I really don't want to call a repair person out because I suspect they won't be able to find the problem either without just making an educated guess and charging me a lot of money
