Wife was cooking Easter ham. She preheated oven, put ham in and about 20 min later, the oven started beeping and the display showed F3 E2 error code. Wife turned off oven but the upper element wouldn't turn off (still glowing red). Opened breaker and let oven cool for about an hour then closed breaker and the oven seemed to work normally again. Found schematics for the stove and it appears that there are two relays which control the oven elements (K2 & K4). I suspect one of these relays stuck closed. However, before I go and buy a $250 control board (or attempt to repair this one), could a bad oven temp sensor cause this?

However, before I go and buy a $250 control board (or attempt to repair this one), could a bad oven temp sensor cause this? No as it should not be able to hold the element on. If lets say it was reading the temperature low, the oven would overheat but you would still be able to shut it off from the control |
