Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 4/11/2009(UTC) Posts: 3		I'm trying to fix a freinds dryer, the vents have been cleaned thouroghly. Upon arrival I turned on empty dryer and it was heating fine, I turned it off and back on, and still heated,approx. 10 minutes. So I had some wet clothes put in, and the dryer went cold, a couple minutes into the cycle it warmed slightly but went cold. Took out clothes, turned dial to diferent setting and it started to heat up again. I suspected the thermostat, there are 4 terminals on it, 2 g show continuity and the other 2 dont. whats happening here?:o

My meter would read 480 ohms as 0.48 on a 20K scale Did you remove at least one wire from it just to ensure you are not reading an alternate/parallel circuit path.
