We have a 20+ year old Hotpoint dishwasher, model HDA 795-01. Used infrequently. When I turned it on last, it only made a buzzing sound, not the loud noise a dishwasher will normally make. I advanced the dial to the Quick Wash start, and water slowly entered. I had to leave at that point. When I returned hours later, dishes in the machine were still wet (despite the Heat Dry option turned on), and there was a lot of standing water at teh bottom of the tub. Thanks for any help.

Check the motor to see if it is free. Try turning it by hand, may be stuck seal. This happens when not used much.
