The upper oven baking element in my old Modern Maid oven, Model FDO180-2D, burned out. The original Manufacturer part number is 0051384(Customer service rep gave me this p/n, but I think correct p/n is 0051645), but the part has been discontinued by the Manufacturer, and there is no listed substitute. Can anyone tell me where I can find one , or if there is a different Manufacturer's element that will substitute.

I assume that you have already tried AppliancePartsPros.

Looks like 0051384 replaced 0051645 in the past.

If no luck all I can suggest is take the element to a appliance parts supply house and see if they can match it up physically for you. There may be one for a different stove/manufacturer that will fit.
