My refrigerator icemaker stopped making cubes. I emptied the ice cube container, and reinserted it. I emptied the freezer, turned off the freezer and let it sit overnight. The next day, the freezer temperature was around 50. There was no water in the ice cube bin. I checked the shutoff arm and found that it can be jiggled up and down with no problem. I turned on the freezer and set it to that it reached zero, which it did normally. After it got to around 15 it made a dozen cubes and dropped them into the bin, in maybe three or four batches. There was nothing wrong with those cubes. Then it made no more cubes. Opening and closing the freezer door starts the usual icemaker hissing water sound, and after a little while I hear a sound that I am guessing are the ejector blades trying to turn for a second then they stop. What could be causing my problem and how can I fix it myself? The freezer is a pull out drawer on the bottom of the appliance and the icemaker is on the roof of the freezer, in the back, making it impossible to work with other than by groping. Thank you for any advice you give.

Sounds like the ice maker has gone bad.
