How do I test the air damper. The freezer gets very cold but the top of the refrigerator gets warm. It seems as if the damper is never opening.

Here are your parts Replacement parts for FRG FRS26R4CW1 | AppliancePartsPros.comHere is the wiring diagram ftp://ftp.electrolux-na.com/Pr...F/Anderson/240389613.pdfAs you can see you have 3 items to check 1. The fresh food thermostat 2. The damper motor 3. The damper door location switches First be sure that the evaporator fan in the freezer side is running. It is required to push cold air into the fresh food side. Check so that you are sure the damper door is not opening by using the thermostat. You may have to remove the assembly from the side of the compartment so you can see it. If it does not open Then I would check the motor for continuity Next I would check the thermostat with a meter to see if it's contacts are opening/closing. Set it to half way. Hold the end of the capillary in your hand, the contacts should close. Put the capillary in a glass of ice the contacts should open. Note it has Normally Open and Normally Closed contacts, so measure using the common for one meter lead and then check to the NO and NC contacts. |
