I figured out the key to the repair. We used a spatula to free the edges of the black plastic piece that surrounds the front of the ice maker. You then have to remove the key pad panel. The trick is to use a wood skewer and the three holes under the key pad. Pushing the skewer into the holes releases the key pad. This reveals 4 screws that when removed provide access to all the remaining parts. Good luck to all who try this. It workrd for me.
