The compressor (DC57C84RCU6) on my 6-yr old Profile fridge stopped working. I looked up the replacement overload on GE's website and received 3 different part numbers. WR8X113 ($26), WR08X10025 ($26), and WR09X10107 ($100).

I opted for the $100 part. The replacement I received was similar in appearance to the original part but not identical. My original one does not have any numbers imprinted on it, just the GE logo and L&N for line and neutral. See pictures below.

I installed the new overload with the old run capacitor, the compressor still did not run. I tried a 3-n-1, the compressor started up.

Is it possible the part # listed on GE's site is incorrect since it looks different? If it's the right one, is it possible to be defective?

My parts supplier had a whirlpool overload/capacitor combo that looked just like mine but had different ratings. Is there a way to cross reference GE part # with Whirlpool part # to see if they are compatable?

Thanks

Do NOT use a 3 n 1 hard start device in this fridg, will blow out the start winding. If you wired up the factory service part the same way as the old one, you may have a blown start winding in the compressor if the compressor does not shut down on it's overload. You will need an ohmeter to check.
