On the latest go, during the "normal wash" portion, water started running out all over the floor. When I turned it off and turned the dial all the way to the end of the program in "rinse and hold" I hear the hum and then the pump and then the water gets sucked out. In my case I have no air gap, but the hose comes out into the sink base and in a big loop and then down into the disposal. That does not appear to be clogged.

What is the problem? This has happened a few times before I think, but we have just tried again a few days later as our "solution" to the problem, I guess that worked.

Thanks for any ideas!

Well, March 3, happened again. I guess I'm using this site to keep track of my dilemma.

This time, basically the thing ran ALL NIGHT and in the morning had damaged my wood floor -- a LOT.

I think that it could be the timer being too slow or screwed up somehow.

I also get the feeling that the water is draining a lot slower than before, and that maybe it never got around to emptying all the way before more water came in?

Can anyone help me with suggestions on what to do short of buying a new dishwasher? Basically I'm saying that maybe the timer is goofy, or the pump is goofy or some other switch is goofy?

thanks!
