Replaced the belt that goes around the tub a couple of weeks ago. Dryer worked perfectly until the other day. It quit, but when you turn the timer on and press the start button all you hear is the timer going, the dry doesn't come on.

Here is your parts breakdown Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL LE9480XWW0 | AppliancePartsPros.comI could not find a wiring diagram for your unit so the below is a bit of a guess. First I would check the door switch. Many units still run the timer when the door is open. This ensures the timer will always reset back to off. Next would be the thermal fuse Item 7 in Section 4. Check it with a meter. If you do not have a meter. Unplug the unit, Short the 2 wires from the fuse together Tape them up so they cannot short to anything. Plug it in and give it a try. If the fuse is blown, replace it ASAP as it is a critical safety device. Also clean and check your vent system which is usually the cause of it blowing. Clean and check the blower.Check to be sure the drum rotates fairly easily. If it is slowing down for any reason, it will slow down the blower, reduce air flow and blow the fuse. Next on the list would be the push to start relay. PS your wiring diagram may be in the control console. |
