We have a GE JKP64GP/JKP65WP stacked oven / microwave combonation unit. Last night when warming some vegtables the microwave started to emit a smell like that of burnt metal(? I don't really know what burnt metal smells like). The food didn't warm at all, also we didn't place anything metal in the microwave. The oven unit and the control panel that is above with the microwave seem to function properly. Any help/direction would be greatly appreciated. K

Such smell could come from: the low voltage transformer, high voltage transformer, magnetron, diode or control board.

The microwave has to be removed from the oven cabinet and taken apart for proper diagnosis.
