When I turn on the ac the fan blows fine, there is no noise, but the ac cool does not kick in. Can you help me? I cleaned off the outside of the unit. No cool. T Texas

Rank: Advanced Member Groups: Senior Expert Joined: 9/1/2008(UTC) Posts: 440		Unplug unit. Remove the thermostat and jump out the two leads going to it. Restore power and turn to A/C and see if the unit starts. If so replace the thermostat. Also, with power off look at the capacitor (metal can) to see if it is swollen, has a leak, or wires corroded. :)
