About six months ago I replaced the starter/overload switch witch burnt up. Wondering if there's a connection. Could it be the defrost timer?

That was last night, and by the end of the evening it was all removed. Woke up this morning and the ice wasn't frozen and still isn't over 24 hours later. Could it be a Freon problem or thermostat?
