I just purchased a motherboard here for my GE pts25sbmarbs refrigerator. Can you tell me how to install it--or where I might find that information?Main control board assembly domestic - Main control board for newer GE and Hotpoint refrigerators.

Part Number: AP4297272
Manufacturer's Number: WR55X10656 (WR55X10552) made by GE

Thanks

Unplug refrigerator. First I remove 3 screws to remove cover for Board ASM Main located on back of refrigerator then loosen Board by pressing on each of 4 plastic pins then unscrew ground wire (green) then transfer all plugs from old Board to new Board, put back new board through pins, screw back ground wire then put back cover then plug back refrigerator.

That plus the part was going to cost me $400. Many thanks to you and the AppliancePartsPros.com site.

The refrigerator is working again. A couple of follow-up questions. A terminal of one of the box-like components of the board had arc-ed to the metal box it was mounted in. There was a blackened area and bits of solder around it. So it was a hot event.
Questions:
1) Because the wiring harnesses are squeezed in, the cover of the compartment presses down on the board pushing it closer to the back where the arc-ing occurred the first time. Should I put something behind it to prevent another short? I suppose whatever it is should be non-flammable.
2) There was one, 3-hole female plug that was attached to nothing. I didn't see a 3-prong mail to plug it into anyway, so I left it unattached.
3) Is this the way motherboards usually fail? Or is it usually less dramatic and visible? Either way, is there anything I can do to prevent a repetition?

Thanks again for your valuable help.
