I'm trying to troubleshoot my GE Dishwasher. We recently replaced the Water Inlet Valve (< 3 months ago) but are experiencing troubles again with the washer not filling.

(Bear with me since I'm not a technician but want to provide as much info as possible.)

- My ohmmeter shows 1.1k ohms but no continuity across the inlet water valve. (???) I do see that the overfill valve switch is working. (Continuity when button is up, no continuity when normally depressed from the weight of the dome float.)
- I'm concerned I'm not getting proper voltage, though. Before calling for water, the valve leads have 0.6VAC on them and about 1.7VAC when the washer is supposed to fill, again back down to .6VAC after water fill is done.

I'm concerned about this washer because I'm thinking not only do I need another water inlet valve but do I need a new control board, too?!

What else can I test? (Or is my testing done and now I have to open my wallet for these parts or a new washer?)

Thanks!

Ok, now I'm weirded out! I was testing the voltage in a different spot, and of course, my probe touched the terminal and a part of the frame tripping the breaker. So, I put the float switch cover back on (which I had done before, too) and... now it fills water perfectly! I'm relieved that it might be working again, but now am curious on what my readings were all about.
