My dishwasher lock mode button is stuck and the light is dim now. Is there a way to reset the panel so that it is unlocked? I think the rest of the buttons are fine on the panel. I tried turning off the power and that doesn't work. Maytag just replaced the panel 1.5 yrs ago because it was starting on it's own but they said now the replacement only carries a 1 yr warranty and the dishwaher is just past the 5 year warranty. Any ideas how to reset the lock mode?

After reading all the "fixes" from this site as well as others, I did all of them, holding the lock button, holding it while hitting cancel. Nothing at all. I unplugged it, waited a day, and still locked. Not wanting to believe I needed a new panel, which is what everyone said, I unplugged the machine. Then, one at a time, I unplugged each pin connector from the control panel. Unplug the one on the right first, then plug in power, wait a few seconds, then unplug power. Put that pin back on. Do the same with the next 2 pin connectors. When you do the last one, and power on with the pin connector unplugged, wait about 10 seconds, then remove power. Plug the pin connector back in, so everything is back the way it should be. Add your power, and the lock button goes off !! I did this a week ago, as my wife was already in the car to go get a new dishwasher. One week later, we are still in business. I hate this piece of junk like everyone else, but do not want to spend $500- on a new one right now. Hope this fix helps yours. Be careful as you are supplying power to a unit with the control panel open and things unplugged.
