Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 3/25/2009(UTC) Posts: 1		I have a maytag fridge/ freezer that stopped cooling completely about 4 days ago, i ordered a relay/ overload with start capacitor and put it in tonight and that did not help. both fans run just does not cool. the compressor trys to kick on for about 5-10 seconds and then kicks off. its warm to the touch is the compressor shot?? or should i be looking in another direction? thanks in advance for your help. n.g.a.

Rank: Advanced Member Groups: Senior Expert Joined: 3/10/2009(UTC) Posts: 1,363		Yes it would seem to be the compressor with a new overload and starter relay. Less than five years old it should still be under warranty since that's part of the sealed system.
