Installed Nov 2003. In Sept 2008, had to replace door latch. March 2009 it stopped before completing the cycle (left water in bottom). Now there is no power to the unit. The outlet is working so something inside the unit is not working. Since there is no power, I have no idea what part might be defective. It sounds like possibilities include a door switch, a control board, and/or maybe the cord (seems unlikely to me, however). I'll be very appreciative of any help to narrow down the problem.

Remove the toe panel and check the power cord connection top the dishwasher for a burned wires and proper connection.

Remove the inner door panel and check all wires. Check the door latch and the switches for continuity.

If there is nothing wrong and there is 120 VAC to the control board the the control board has to be replaced.

I took off the toe panel, and everything seemed to look OK -- no burn signs, etc. and power cord seemed secure. I also took the inner door panel off. All the wires seem OK visually. Here's where my ignorance comes into play. Does checking 'continuity' involve an ohm meter. I went into buy one but was told unless I knew how to use one and had the tech spec's I may not accomplish anything. So, just to confirm, is an ohm meter what's needed and is that something an inexperienced person like me could do? Thanks again. Art

Yes, you do need a simple multimeter to perform such test. You can learn how to do it from the article on our forum - How To Check Continuity With Ohmmeter. It's not difficult.

The problem also might be a loose connector on the control board, if the power and door latch are OK. See this thread

If so, it would require you to re-solder the connector, if you have the equipment to do so.
