Dishwasher was working fine, then just stopped. The lights do light up when you press a select button, then when you turn the knob, it just has an electronic hum, but won't start. There is nwater in the bottom and I can't get it to drain??? Any suggestions on what part I need to order?

The motor is probably stuck. See this article: GE Dishwasher Motor Repair Problem | ApplianceJournal.com

Thank you for your reply, it was a diferent model, but using a screwdriver i was able to rotate the motor fins until it moved more freely and plugged it back in and presto, it worked. Bloody maaahvelous! Thank you. Terry.

Excellent! Just keep an eye on it for a few days, make sure the pump doesn't start leaking.

This trick worked for me. It saved me from manually washing dishes today, and it bought me a few months before I buy a new dishwasher.
