Recently the was a noise eminating from the rear of the unit when the fan was running. The fan has stopped running now and the lower sections of both the refrigerator and freezer are way too cold. To the point that the lower section of the refrigerator might as well be my freezer because everything has frozen. Unfortunately, the top sections of both the refrigerator and freezer are not cold at all. In the freezer section the upper section could pose for the refrigerator. Cool but nothing frozen. Please help.

If the fan of which you speak is the fan in the freezer(evaporator fan) then that is your problem. Replace the fan. If that's not the one you're talking about then check it. It should be running when the compressor is running and the door closed.

While I haven't checked the fan as of yet. The noisy fan was definitely in the freezer area. When you opened the freezer door, the noise was much louder.
