I was given this refrigerator and know that it was working great, but set unused for about 4 months. It was laid on its side for about 8 miles and was allowed two days before plugging it in. It was washed out completely and plugged in, but it is not cooling. The light comes on, but the fan in the freezer does not. Any help would be appreciated as a repairman or new refrigerator is pretty much out of the question.

Remove the cover on the back of the fridge and see if the compressor is running.
If not then does it make a clicking noise?
If it does then the problem could be a bad starting device or a compressor itself.

If it does not make a clicking noise then you have to check the defrost timer (could be stuck in the defrost position) and the cold control for continuity (it should be closed).

It is worth to fix any problem besides, probably, the compressor.

- The part number for the starting device AP3108669

- The part number for the defrost timer AP3110896

- The part number for the cold control AP3108492
