Does the use of an automotive belt as the washer drive belt effect performance in any way?

If so what are the drawbacks?

Thanks

Hello LI Mark. Yes, it will greatly affect the performance of the washing machine. Automotive belts are designed not to slip when installed, and washing machine belts are designed to slip when installed. If you install automotive belts on this washer, the motor will overheat and kick off on the overload. You will need to use factory replacement belts. Hope this helps.
