Our Frigidaire is approx. 7 years old. The problem was discovered by the water not dispensing from the ice/water dispenser located on the outside freezer door. I took the water filter off and tried again. Water was coming from where the filter is located and you can hear the pump running but no water from the door. While dealing with this I noticed the fridge or freezer was not cool. We pulled out the fridge and pulled off the back panel. The cooling fan was working but the compressor was hot and the coils were covered in dust. We cleaned everything and tried again, same thing, fan running, lights on inside, but no cool air coming out from inside fridge. I read through the previous threads and it looks like maybe the starter but would that also cause the water to not dispense?
I let the fridge sit for a few hours and then plugged it back in. You can hear the compressor come on, it hums, and the water is dispensing again. However, the fridge nor freezer side are getting cool.
