The water won't dispense from the door. So far I have replaced the filter, verified the water solenoid is functional, and water will dispense from it. I also have traced the water tube to where it enters the door and disconnected it there, and I get good flow at that point when I press the switch. Anybody have an idea on what is wrong?

Did you hear any kind of noises when you push the lever on the water dispenser?

Not in "water mode" but when it is in "ice mode" the ice delivers. Also, when I push the lever the water solenoid does activate, and delivers water to the outlet of the solenoid valve. I even get water all the way up to the door, but no farther. Is there a valve in the door itself for the water? PAULUS1024

Your water line in the door is frozen. tour can use a hair dryer on your door. or try running hot water into the line of the door. or you can take the water line out of the door. you have to take the front panel off and pull the line threw.

How do you pull the front panel off? I tried the hair dryer but to no avail.

Hi, many GE fridges have this problem. Mine stopped dispenceing ice, then intermittent on water till it didn't do either one. If you call GE costomer relations at 800-386-1215 and ask them about their "free replacement program" they can verify if you're on the list by your model/serial #. They have had a lot of problems with the main control board. They next day air mailed mine and it took 5 min to install myself.

GE has a kit which is a warmer which runs off of the power going to the water dispenser.
It is a wire heating coil which attaches to the water line.
We had to call GE service 3 times because of this, and first 2 times, they basically told us to shut off the ref. leave the door open for about 4-5 hours and then try it out, third time, the tech told us that GE issued the repair kit and installed it and no issues since then.

I have the model 20, 22, 24 and I had the same problem. The water dispenser stopped working. But I heard something when I tried to dispense water like it was trying.
I took everything out of the freezer and turned it off. Then I took a heat gun and gingerly used it so it didn't get to hot. Hair dryer would work too. It freed right up and is working fine. I hope I don't have this problem again soon.
Thanks to this site for giving me the idea.

Thanks
