So long (and embarrassing) story short I accidentally poured draino into the dishwasher instead of dishwashing soap. I ran it with that in there and when I afterwards when bubbles were all over the kitchen floor I realized my terrible mistake. I tried running it with dishwashing soap and it still did the same thing and now wont drain from the bottom.
Is there anyway to fix this with out completely replacing it?

Add a cup of vinegar to the unit. Then let it fill. Use the short wash or rinse cycle. Stop it so it does not go into the wash cycle. Manually empty the unit with a cup. Do this several times. Then do the same thing but let it wash for a minute or so. When you finally get the bubbles down to a reasonable amount, let it wash for a couple minutes and then force a drain.
It will take a long time to clean out the unit and as long as there are lots of bubbles the unit will not drain properly. |
