i have a chest freezer more than 10 years old i looker up the company that made it the otasco inc. there went out of business a good wile back other than that i replaced temp thermostat
it would run but would not cut off other than turning off it does freeze good for as old as it is. routing thermostat capillary was impossible so i drilled a very small hole to inside freezer did not hit any coils of any kind i placed the capillary where one of the condenser coils i think would be it frost real good in that spot freezer freezes good and cold but the problem is when it reaches temp it cuts off and then after a few min it cycles off on and i here a clicking noise i think its the switch on the compressor once i cut it off a few min it will work again other than that it freezes good for a free freezer

Chris G.

You may want to check the cold control" cut in and cut out" settings and adjust if possible. Sounds like the compressor is starting to cycle on (run) before the refrigerant has time to equalize, causing a high head pressure, and the compressor start device is opening the overload.

Good Luck,

:) :) :)

.

Chris, I don't have a reference sheet or info either. My best guess would be to turn the screw on the left ( if they're labelled the "cut in" screw) slightly counter clockwise, to allow more compressor off time, Not a lot, just a scosh.
