I have a side by side frig that only gets frozen on the bottom shelf of the freezer and the frig. side of the unit only gets down to about 55deg. or so. There is pleny of food in the unit but there seems to be no circulation inside the frig or the freezer. This unit has sat for about six months but has not been moved. The condinser is hot, the fan is running that cools off the radiator looking thing. Can you recharge a frig. with new coolant?

Is the evaporator fan in the freezer running.
If it is then it could be low on freon and can be recharged by a qualified tech.

If the condenser is HOT it DOESEN'T need to be CHARGED!!!!!!!!!! sounds like the evap. fan motor is not running, OR its frosted up!!!!:)
