Maytag Dishwasher serial 18845987WD.

Washer pump action quit working. After checking the power supply ordered a new pump assembly (part no. AP436087). After installation of pump and relay, motor would not run. I called customer service and a new pump assembly was sent. It still would not work. Checked other componets and found a bad door switch. Replaced door switches and, even though it seemed to be OK, I replaced the timer as well. Packaging was suspicious for both pumps (cardboard had gotten wet, parts poorly molded, relay package torn open).

Am I missing a protective interlock or something else?

What should I do?

Hello Edbradley2000. Check and make sure there is power coming to the motor with the machine turned on. You should read 120 volts AC across yellow and white. If there is no power there, you will want to look for a broken or burnt wire going to the motor. If there is power to the motor, you have a bad pump/motor assembly and will need to get another one. Hope this helps.

There was not 120 volts between yellow and white lead to motor. These leads are at either end of the relay coil. There was 120 volts between white and blue leads. I tried jumper wire 99001917, still no. motor. Tried another motor with jumper an it worked.

Bottom line, I got one "new" motor that was bad, and needed the jumper wire.
