I need to clarify this: my washer is a Dependable Care, not a Neptune.

I recently replaced the timer, which had a busted cam contact for the spin cycle. Now, it did a bunch of light loads, but left the clothes heavy with water after the spin cycle finished. The tub does spin CCW on the spin cycle.

Now however, it won't spin at all for any load condition. The spin cycle starts, I can hear the motor working hard, then the thermal overload switch opens and the cycle stops. If I wait for it to cool and reset, it starts hard, spins a bit and then stops. I can also smell a somewhat "burned" smell. The belts are good.

I should say this is an all original (except for the timer) 13+ year old washer. I suspect the clutch assembly/brake is the issue. So I plan to order the clutch parts and tool, and replace the bearing and seal while in there. Any help on which parts I exactly need is much appreciated.
