My washer recently stopped draining. It spins, but will not drain.
Steps I have taken: 1)Removed the housing 2)Removed the hose from the drum to the pump to see if it was clogged. It is not clogged, I know this because all the water drained out onto my floor just fine. (i did plan for this somewhat and had moved the machine right next to the drain in the floor). 3)I tested to see if the hose from the pump to the sink was clogged and it is not. 4)I removed the pump. There is nothing visible inside of it, and it spins fine when I turn it by hand. 5)Turned the machine on. The motor and drum spin fine. 6)Checked the belt between the motor and the pump. Nothing immediately jumps out as being wrong with the belt.
I am at a loss for what the problem might be and am open to any advice.

Hello Etera. Remove the pump from the machine. Insert a flat blade screwdriver inside the pump and hold the impeller. Turn the pulley on the bottom of the pump and see if it turns without the impeller moving. If so, you will need to replace the pump assembly, the impeller is striped out. Hope this helps. I did as instructed and the pully will not spin when the impeller is blocked.

Is the drain hose loose inside the drain pipe or is it air tight?

The drain hose has always just been tied to, and draining into, the large wash basin in the basement. The washer has been working like that for several years.

Check and make sure the belt is not slipping on the pump pulley.

Is there an easy way to check that? I am assuming I will have to reinstall the pump first?

I reattached the pump. The belt does not appear to be slipping. I can't say if it was slipping before because I didn't check, but I know it isn't slipping now.
