Usually this is caused by moisture getting on the ribbon cable. Make sure your vent on the unit is not under the counter to where the moisture will be retained in the control panel and make sure the gasket for the vent is in the correct place on the control panel.

So you're saying to pull the dishwasher out further from under the granite? Won't that look sort of weird? I'll make sure Mr B (I'm Mrs B by the way) has your comments when he replaces the control panel and hopefully will be able to figure out how to get the moisture from collecting. I'm not sure where the vent is...that's good advice though. Thanks again for all your help.

I have filed a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool for their faulty control panels in their Whirlpool and Maytag dishwashers. Please contact my attorney Eppsteiner & Fiorica Attorneys, LLP at 866.548.8857 and let them know if you own or owned a dishwahser with control panel failures.
