Frig keeps icing up. About every month and a half I have to take everything out of both sides. Take the back panel off the inside of the freezer... use a hair dryer and manually defrost it. I'm wondering if there is a defrost timer that has gone bad or what? In the summer when it is humid I have to do this about every 3 weeks. Other than this the unit works fine.
Or could it be a heating coil that's out of whack to defrost it.

There is a heater on the coils. See if it has continuity. There is a defrost thermostat clamped to the coils. When it is cold it should show continuity. If these two parts are good then the problem is your main board. Part 801 on the diagram of your sealed system & motherboard here. Replacement parts for GE GSH22KGMDBB | AppliancePartsPros.com
