The thermal fuse still appears to be good. Motor runs fine..drum turns ok...just no heat, of course. Could a loose connection have caused this? Puzzling.....

This then is a resistance and when current passes through this resistance heat is generated. This then degrades the connection which causes more heat and so on and so on till the connection fails. Could also be that the dryer is running too hot or the wire is routed too close to the heater. You probably would have noticed if the unit was running too hot.
