GE fridge is side by side and water freezes in the door from the water coulping up to the water dispensor. It started about 4 months ago and was once every two months freezes by now is weekly. Tried attempts to turn off freezer and remove frozen product and leave door open to thaw out and that works for one week and then water line freezes again. Setting is on 4 and now turned down to 3. Any help in this situation? Thanks for answering this question. Mick

I've heard that this is deteriating insulation in the door. Other than replacing the door, I've heard of taping some insulation to the inside of the door in the area of the dispenser. A hair dryer on this area will melt the ice quicker.

That's correct. Adding insulation on the inside of the freezer door around the dispenser area can completely stop the freezing inside the water tube. (I used sticky foam tape - surface should be dry before application)

Hair dryer is for very patient individuals. You can remove the ice plug in seconds by using a 50 cc disposable syringe, with a piece of 1/8 inch flexible tubing attached, filled with hot tap water. Insert in the water spout, until tubing stops on the ice plug, inject hot water, feel the plug immediately disappear. In my case the plug was several inches deep into the water spout.

The radical solution is to ask GE to give you a new door as I did. Hopefully the new door has this problem fixed.
