I start dishwasher. A motor starts, not sure which one. Any water in tub will drain out but no new water comes in. I have taken out the screen on the fill valve and cleaned it to no avail. I have tried dumping some water into the tub and started it. Water drains out but again no new water comes in. When I open the door, it makes a gurgling kind of sound and water comes out of the inlet that goes to the main pump. Please help.

Remove the bottom panel and check for a water in the base.

Check for 120 VAC to the inlet water valve solenoid while the control calls for water.

Gene.

There was water in the base which was activating the safety switch. Soaked up the water and the dishwasher now runs. Question is, how did the water get there. Running a load right now and watching for leaks. Haven't seen any yet. Hopefully it was a one time thing.

I hope so. If not then you have to determine the source of the water leak.
