Hi People!

I have a whirlpool washer and dryer - mid range units, some bells and whistles, not the best, not the cheapest models. I use them frequently, but not abused.

The problem is lint. Seems like I get a lot of lint on dark shirts and socks in both the washer and dryer.

Any ideas on how to eliminate the lint problem? Do either washer or dryer require any type of maintenance at approx 6 years old?

Thanks for any input. :D  :o :) ;)

About a washer:

1. Do not overload the washer. A garments should have enough room to move up and down for better quality.

2. Do not wash high producing lint items like towels with your dress shirts.

3. Keep your washer clean. I would recommend to use the 'Washer Magic" once every month.

About a dryer:

1. Check the vent and the air ducts inside the dryer for a clog. Restricted air flow would cause the lint to built up inside the dryer.

2. Check the lint screen for damages and make sure you clean it before every load.

3. Check the front and the rear drum seals for any damages and replace them if needed.

4. The dryer has to be taken apart and cleaned inside at least every other year.

Gene.
