Amana range (Model # AGS746E). Replaced digital control unit (Part # Y0308716). Original unit failed (digital readout ok but oven temp would not allow knob to set it past initial 170 setting).

When we powered up the replacement unit, it beeped 3 times in a row. Did this several times. Never displayed any digital readout, even at initial power up. We tried setting the time, but no digital display. Now it will not beep or show a read out. Looks dead. No water spills or any damage that we can see.

Is there a re-set procedure? We've tried turning off the power to the kitchen, reconnecting the unit, and powering back up. Upon re-powering the unit, no beeping occurs.

Is the unit faulty? Should we exchange it?
