I have a Whirlpool dryer where the drive motor after running some time slows down speed considerably and then returns to normal .
This repeats over and over while the dryer is running.
The blower output is reduced substantially and the tumbler speed goes down as well.
Seems to occur after the dryer has been on for some time.
The drive motor is the type where the blower is screwed on to one end of the shaft and the other end has a pulley for the tumbler belt.
Any help is appreciated.

If you are SURE that your power to the dryer is a good solid 240V and a good ground and neutral, Then replace the motor, DOUBLE CHECK your power though!!!!!!

Thanks for your quick response.
Just checked power again - no load of course - 245 VAC and 122 VAC to neutral.
So I guess the motor winding is overheating and dying or the bearing is overheating and seizing up or something of this sort.
