I just got this freezer. I am not sure it works correctly or not.

I plugged it up for about 30-60 minutes to test it.

Is it normal once I first plug it in that the compressor gets hot, almost too hot to touch?

Is it normal for the outside of the upright freezer walls to be very warm?

Hello Jsmi. Yes, it is normal for the compressor and the outside walls on this model to get hot. That is where the condenser coils are located in the freezer. The heat is normal operation of the sealed system. Hope this helps.
