Hello,
My 2.5 yr. old dishwasher takes forever to finish a cycle(if it even will finish anymore). For a normal wash cycle the timer starts at 2:17 and goes down from there. Two weeks ago, out of the blue, the DW would start, drain, fill, and start to try washing with abnormal surging sounds. This would go on for about 15 minutes but the timer would only get down to 2:12 or so with or without dishes in the machine. While it is trying to wash the motor seems to surge for several seconds, stop, surge again and so on. After multiple surges the pump seems to run for a continuous minute or so and the go back to surging. I ran the DW with the door open(switches jumped out) and the bottom sprayer sprays with the force of say a water fountain with not a whole lot of rotation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry cannot be of much help here but I did find the following manual for you
http://136.166.4.200/contents/D...S5811_Service_Manual.pdf

Almost sounds like the unit is not getting enough water, unforetunately I do not know where the correct water level should be. I would try adding a quart or two of water to it to see if this improves the operation.

Also could be gunk etc. in the pump.

Thanks Denman....Already tried adding water to no avail....I was trying to stay away from pulling the DW out and taking apart the bottom, but I guess thats inevitable....unless I break down and call someone:eek:
