The broiler element was not working on our oven. We determined that the contact switch for the broiler was not working, so ordered a new control panel. We have installed it, but there is nothing. The stovetop elements are working, but there seems to be no power in the control panel. Is there a reset switch or something that would start everything? There are only 6 wire to connect, so it doesn't seem likely that it is hooked up wrong. Could the control panel be bad that we got?
Thanks

I hope you checked the thermal fuse (Item 26 in Section 3) as that also will kill power to the broil element.

Do the stove top element indicator lights work.
If not then it sounds like a wiring problem (no Neutral)
All elements work off the full 240 volts but the lights and the control panel work off of only half the line, 120 volts.
Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times, sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker.
If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug
L1 to L2 should be 240 volts
L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts.
If OK
Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out
If OK
Check the power at the terminal strip.
Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!!

No.

Yes.
Check the wires from the terminal strip to the control panel.
Since the old board was OK other than no broiler, reinstall it to see if there is a wiring problem
OR you could check for 120 volts between P4-1 and P4-3 (Neutral to L2), control board power, depending how comfortable you are messing with 240 volts.

Ok, we did check the thermal fuse and it is fine. The stove top element indicator lights work. We tried flipping the breaker off and on a couple of times. We checked the voltage at the plug and the wires and the power at the termianl strip. All are good. We put the old control panel back in and it works fine except for the broil element doesn't come on. We believe we received a bad control panel. What do we do now? Does Appliance Parts Pro stand behind their parts?
Thanks

Yes, they do.

We called and they sent us another control panel. This one came, but the plastic electrical ribbon was not attached on one side. We tried to put it into the connectors, but it would not stay. So, we called and they sent us another control panel (3rd one). We installed this one and there is nothing again. We put the old one back in and it works, so we know how to connect it right. I doubled checked the part number and it is the same as our old one. What are we missing? Are we doing something wrong or can all these control panels be bad? What do we do now?
(P.S. The electrical ribbon on the first part we received is the same as our old part, the next two are made a little different - they don't have a plastic part on the ribbon that clips into the plastic base attached to the control panel. We also found out after taking the ribbon out on our old part and not getting it back in correctly that the control panel didn't all work properly. We then reinserted it and it was back to working like before.)
