Hello,
I bought a new GE frontloading washing machine about a year ago. This morning, the washer was mid cycle. It stopped running. The door is locked. WHen I play around with it .... shut it off etc., no matter what mode or sycle I put it in ... it wont start. The door remains locked. What could be the problem ? How could I diagnose it ? Can I get the door open ?

I fixed it. I heard a lot about the door latches being defective ..... I slid the whole thing out and what it was is .... the harness to the button that shows the door is closed had came out. I plugged it back in and the washer works fine now. Tough to get to tho ..... now I have to figure out how to get the front totally off ---- I could only pull the bottom section out.
