Broken door catch - received replacement part - however: unable to remove original screws - what tool to use for this odd screwhead? Where screw driver should go is a very large opening, kind of square looking.

If it sort of looks like a star then it is a Torx and you will have to get a driver set.

Check the size of the one you need to ensure it is included in the set you pick up.

You should be able to get a set with a handle and half a dozen or so bits/sizes for about $10.00. Hardware stores etc. have them.

If possible get a set that has a hole in the center of the Torx end.
There are Torx screws called security, they have a post sticking up in the center of the bit so a standard Torx will not fit them. That way if you run into a security Torx in the future you set will fit it.

If it looks like a hexagon you need an allen key set.
