My washer's leg dome assembly cracked, at the point where the support leg was welded onto the base. I looked into ordering the part, but first I would like to know how difficult it would be for me to replace this part on my own. Part Number: AP2106712 made by FRIGIDAIRE. I talked to a home appliance repairman, he seemed to think that I would have to remove everything starting at the top and work my way down. Is there an easier way, starting from the bottom? Thanks for your advice!

Well if you really wanted to see what your washer looked like when it was still in individual pieces, this would do the trick. All kidding aside, it isn't difficult, just time consuming and you will need to pay attention to where everything came from as you take it out. I would remove the entire tub from the cabinet myself, then turn it over and work from the bottom up. If you have the tools and the time, just take pictures as you go just in case you get sidetracked in the middle of the job.
