the only way to tell which one it is, is to ohm out thermostat, and see if you have continuity. of course you have to kill the power when you do this. tom applianceeducator.com - parts

Real easy. kill the power to the oven, and then go to the thermostat, and pull off the two red wires going to the thermostat, one will be marked C, and the other will be marked 2, then turn the thermostat on bake, and ohm out those two contacts. If you get a reading it is good. Then put the red wire that goes to C back on the thermostat, and then, turn the thermostat to broil, and then ohm out the C terminal to the terminal on the thermostat marked 1, which will be a blue wire, and see if you get a reading. If you do, then the thermostat is good. Put all the wires back, and now lets go to the oven selector switch.

Now, turn the selector switch to bake, and pull the Black wire off of the terminal marked L1, and get your ohm meter, and check from L1 to the terrminal marked BK, which there will be a red wire there. If you get a reading it is good, if not it is bad. Then to check the broil circuit, put the red wire back on the BK terminal, and leave off the the black wire on the L! terminal, and turn the selector switch to Broil, and then check for continuity from the L1 terminal to the BR terminal, which should be blue wire with a white tracer. and see if you get a reading. Let us know, how it goes. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
